"Thank you," Peggy returned the grin and led the way out of the kitchen. The rest of the office hadn't stopped buzzing since their little diversion. Across the steno-pool she noticed Ken, Paul, and Pete making their way towards Don's office and walking in with little more than a knock on the door. She knew there wasn't any official meeting scheduled and could only imagine what they would be discussing without her and then smirk about later when she didn't know what was going on. "Typical," she shook her head.
To be fair, Don never treated her like the others did. Neither did Sal, really, and Peggy had never figured out why. It was just the three closest to her age. And the most worried, she thought to herself, That I'll outshine them.
Peggy opened the door to her office and stepped aside for Lily to enter. It was sparsely decorated and of the little decor that was there, none of it was as nice as one might have found in Don's office. Still, she had a desk of her own and a small table and chair by the wall that Lily could use. "Have a seat," she said. "I really hope everyone's been treating you well. Did Joan do your introduction?"
