"No, of course," Lily replied. She knew they had work on their horizon, but the chatting had distracted her. "I can't imagine I'll be terribly missed by anyone who can't shuffle off whatever it is to someone else," she assured her.
She was a little curious what it was like to work in someone else's office; as of yet, she'd done all her work at her own desk. Intrigued, a little smile crept across her lips as she wondered if that was a common practice. It stood to reason though, didn't it? At least for dictations. Then there wasn't someone disrupting the concentration -- such as it was -- of the other secretaries, and no need to speak over the clacking of keys as they typed.
She also wondered what it would be like to just be working for one person instead of whoever happened by her desk, but Lily didn't imagine that was something in her near future. Still, it might be nice. "After you," she said with a sweeping gesture toward the door, and a little grin on her lips.
