Peggy smiled. "That sounds nice." A boat she could support. Sure, flight attendants looked like they lived amazingly glamorous lives, but that glamour could fall from the sky at any point in time. Boats could sink, but she would always feel safer.
Her hands tightened a bit around the papers and she looked down at them, despite a reluctance to break eye contact with someone who actually wanted to speak with her. Her smile faltered slightly as she remembered the presentation she had to give that afternoon. "We should continue this in my office, maybe, if you don't think you'll be missed from your desk. I can explain what I need you to do. I'm sorry, I just need to get this done... Sal has some art that'll go with it too."
This was why making friends in the office was so difficult. Who wanted to be overly friendly with someone who was just going to order them around all day?
