She shook her head slightly. "I haven't ... really ventured there yet. I don't really trust the invitations from the blokes and I think the other girls see me as a bit stuck up." Especially after the way she'd been on Thursday and Friday; complete and utter apathy could certainly be taken for snobbery. "Maybe it's the accent," she said with a teasing little smile.
"Either way, I'd take anything I heard with a grain of salt. I prefer first hand information to the he-said she-said game. Words tend to get twisted and things get left out of context, and you wind up with some story that barely resembles the truth. If something comes to me that I feel the need to be concerned about, I'd seek out the source before I made any judgements." Or reacted in any visible way.
Lily shook her head. She'd never been on a plane, so she couldn't describe it accurately if asked. She had, however, taken a cruise once. "There was a boat," she said with a nod. "We ... came over on that. Myself and a few friends from school." She bit at her lower lip, though she made herself stop. She'd already rubbed a raw place on it and she had no desire to make it worse. Instead, she busied herself opening one of the rolls of candies, popping one in her mouth.
She thought about the idea of flying in a plane, and it didn't seem any riskier to her than flying on a broom, but it wasn't as though she could make that comparison. Still, the thought amused her, and she smiled slightly.
