She'd been a bit startling in her calling out, hadn't she? Peggy held up a hand as almost a piece offering. "I just, well... I need something retyped." She looked down at the mistyped papers. "If I can remember what I'd said in the first place. Honestly, this is ridiculous. They never would have--" Stopping herself, she pursed her lips quickly. She didn't know this girl and it was all too possible that she would tell the other secretaries if she complained about them in front of her.
"You can get your food, obviously, but if you would take a dictation and type up some notes for me once you've grabbed it, I'd really appreciate it. I have a presentation at three o'clock today. It's for the Maidenform account." An account that they'd only placed her on because she was female, of course, but she was determined to go a good job.
Peggy shifted the papers in her hands and held her right out to shake. "I don't think anyone bothered to introduce us, since I'm guessing that you're new. I'm Peggy Olson. I'm a copywriter."
