Lily paused when she realized that question was apparently aimed at her. She tried to decide if it was a 'why aren't you at your desk' are you busy or a 'can you help me out' are you busy, and that gave her a blank second or two pause before she shook her head. "Not exceptionally so," she replied. "I was just ... hunting down a snack before I got back to work," she continued, because she did need something to put in her mouth, and she thought chewing on a comb might look odd.
She'd had a habit of chewing on toothbrushes when she was younger, and she supposed it was some sort of oral fixation, but she'd rather it be something besides her lip, which damaged easily when confronted with her teeth. She'd at least broken the habit to only need to gnaw when she was stressed or nervous, but it was a very telling habit.
"Is there something I can do for you?" She asked before wondering if she'd done something wrong and was in for a lecture. She had been doing her best to watch the spelling to ensure she used the American preference instead of the British one, but it was entirely possible she'd missed something.
She laced her fingers behind her back to minimize her fidgeting as she waited curiously to see what was up.
