She watched him not look at her and she wondered what that said. Why would he have agreed if he couldn't stand the sight of her? Her lips pursed slightly and she mentally kicked herself for even imagining this had a chance of working. Of course it wouldn't. He hated her, and not exactly without reason.
Moving to close the door behind him since he denied her silent offer of assistance with the food, she let her hands drop to her sides. "I imagine it would be a bit easier if you could look at me," she pointed out. Lily wonder if she should apologize, or if calling attention to the elephant in the room wasn't the wisest way to go. She guessed she'd just see how everything went and decide from there.
