Lily stilled as she heard the knock. That meant she should probably stand up, open the door, let him in, and go from there. But she was somewhat wary. Why had he agreed to this, after all? She didn't think he'd hurt her, not even now, not on purpose, but what did she really know? She bit down on her lower lip before she eased off the chair. On bare feet, she made her way to the door, though she hesitated a few seconds longer before she drew it open.
She took in his appearance, studying him even as she drew the door wider to let him in. It was queer, seeing him dressed like that, and for a moment she thought he'd cut his hair until she saw it was just tied back. She realized she still had her lip caught between her teeth only when she felt it slip free as she opened her mouth to greet him.
"Hello," she said a little awkwardly before she gestured him inside. How exactly did one treat their former best friend turned enemy, when meeting them in a strange place outside of their own time?
It was enough, on one level, that he was even here. Perhaps it would wind up being the first plank in a bridge they could rebuild, if he was interested in anything more than teaching her. "Thank you," she said, perhaps a little stiffly, but mostly awkwardly. "For agreeing to help me." She held out her hands to help him with the food, if he was interested in surrendering it.
