Lily Evans ([info]just_lily) wrote in [info]silverage,
Lily's mother had taught her the trick of getting where you needed to go, even if you didn't belong there. If you acted as though you were guilty and snuck about, it would draw more attention than simply walking the path as if you belonged on it. She had no business being in Don's office, or really, anywhere near it, and she really did have every intention of avoiding him.

Every once in a while though, she was reminded why she'd been sorted into Gryffindor: she occasionally did things that were completely contrary to her own best interests simply because she was too nosy for her own good.

She timed it as well as she could, when there was minimal traffic in the area. She was also carrying her excuse: a folder with a few papers in it. If asked what she was doing, why, Mr. Draper asked for a file.

Really, she wondered if she wasn't angling to get herself fired, but better sooner than later if it was going to happen. Either way, she at least did him the courtesy of a warning knock before she slipped in and closed the door behind herself. She was curious if he was going to shoo her out right away, or if she'd get a chance to talk to him.

"Are you busy? I'd like to talk to you if you aren't." She moved across from his desk, the folder in her left hand; habit kept her wand-hand free. She didn't plan on drawing it, but he had a way of getting to her that made her want to draw it.
