To be honest, Zack was cheating a little bit when he told Cloud no arguing. It was like pulling rank, something that came easily to Zack after his time as a SOLDIER First Class. No one in the army had outranked him except for Sephiroth by that point. Well, Sephiroth and the Shinra suits, but Zack didn't count the latter since, for the most part, they just sat in their offices signing orders. The difference between Zack and most other ranking officers was that he'd learned to pull rank nicely. It just wasn't in his nature to be aggressive toward someone who didn't deserve it. Cloud was definitely at the top of that list. Zack remembered how quiet the kid had been when they'd first met, and the times he'd caught Cloud's squadmates giving him a hard time. It was a little weird, seeing him now, still quiet, but more confident. Zack got the impression that nobody messed with Cloud these days, at least not outside of friendly banter. That was good, really it was, but Zack wished he knew how it had happened. Cloud was holding things back, and Zack didn't quite have the heart to force those secrets out of him.
"I'm good, actually," Zack told his friend. "Staying at the Welcome Center, so most of the basics are covered. Compared to the way things were just a few weeks ago, it's almost like an all expenses paid trip to Costa del Sol."
