Ianto sometimes needed a break. Not a long one, mind you, but long enough that he had time to take a deep breath and return to his work focused. Between Jack, Anwen, Gwen, and Tony, he often felt like he was being pulled in fifteen different directions. Not that his family was entirely pushy or demanding, but he wanted to be around them. He loved his work too, and he had the tendency to ignore everything else once he got wrapped up in a project.
So really, the walk around the Garden was for his mental health too.
He didn't have a problem making his way around it either; because of his rather public image as Tony's personal assistant, everyone knew exactly who he was. It was a little disconcerting, being so recognisable, especially since he'd lived most of his life in anonymity. At least the Garden was mostly empty today. It was ridiculously hot, and most people didn't want to walk in such heat; he'd already taken his suit coat off and hung it over his arm, his shirt-sleeves pushed up to his elbow.
He turned a corner in the rose garden and started, noticing a woman leaning over a bush. "My apologies, ma'am" he said in a rush, not knowing if she'd noticed him or not. "I didn't mean to interrupt." Tosh had talked to her computers in much the same way, so he didn't find it as completely bizarre as one might think.
