r. lupin ([info]tufty) wrote in [info]silverage,
In hindsight, Remus realized that what he'd done was not a very smart move. Just because he hadn't seen any form of an American Ministry of Magic didn't mean that he could just go about showing his magic to Muggles, aware or not. But then he had to wonder, is there an American Ministry of Magic? A Knight Bus didn't seem to exist in the city and if there was a magical governing body, then they weren't doing a very good job seeing as every attempt he'd done to Apparate to Hogwarts sent him to the train station, the Central Park, Gimbels and even in the lady's room.

Well, if there was an American Ministry, he would at least get a letter from them and that would get him somewhere. In the meantime, he slipped his wand back into his sleeve until it was caught in the hidden strap and picked up his fork to stab on a couple of fries. "I'm from London," he said. It was the first city that popped to mind and anyway, he'd been to London many times. "Did you come from there, too?" he asked before he ate.
