"Ta," Amy answered when the stranger offered his help in picking up her things. As soon as everything was gathered and they'd stood up again, she quickly snatched back the things he was holding, stuffing whatever she could into her pockets and hiding the rest haphazardly under her jacket.
"I think I'll just, em, get a room now, thanks." She began to turn away from the man, but stopped short and said, "No offense or anythin', but you don't look like you're from around here." As a time traveler, she'd grown accustomed to seeing people of all sorts in any kind of dress, but she could tell by looking this guy wasn't the 1960's type. Maybe it was forward of her to ask, and he'd end up thinking she was even crazier than he already thought she was, but she'd never get any closer to figuring out why she was stuck here if she didn't ask questions.
