Amy Pond ([info]fairytale_pond) wrote in [info]silverage,
Once the door was closed behind her, Amy immediately turned on the water in the shower, because she reckoned-- yeesh! and rightly so-- that the primitive plumbing would take a while to warm up. Then she undressed, dumping her soaked clothes in a pile on the floor to be taken care of later. She leaned against the vanity, and for the first time since she'd left the alleyway, allowed herself a deep breath, and started to reflect on her situation. She was stranded. In New York. In 1964. With a stranger. Who was also stranded. This is ridiculous, she thought to herself.

When she lifted her head to look at herself in the mirror, she noticed that it was completely steamed up, and so was the rest of the room, meaning the shower was finally hot. She stepped in gingerly, and slowly worked her body into its warmth. The water pressure was nowhere near as good as the high-tech, futuristic shower heads on the TARDIS, but to Amy it felt like the best shower she'd had in a long time.

Once she'd warmed up enough, she turned the water off, dried herself with a towel, then wrapped herself in the cotton bathrobe provided. She gathered up her wet things and headed back into the bedroom.

Locke stood at the window, looking out at the rain with a dim expression on his face. Amy walked over to him and, hating to disturb his deeply personal moment, said, "Em, do you mind? You're standing in front of the radiator."
