When the stranger stared at her like she was mental for not knowing about these choco-things, Amy stared right back, defiant. But then he started asking her more questions, and Amy could see desperation in his eyes.
"I think Rory, that's my husband, Rory, has an aunt Miranda, but I've never heard of any place like th--" She stopped, because she understood now how selfish she'd been. All this time she'd been thinking of herself and of trying to find the Doctor, when now it was clear she wasn't the one who was really lost here. At least she knew where (and when) she was, and that someone would be coming for her.
"Oh, mate, I'm so sorry. Truly, properly sorry. It sounds like you're a lot father away from home than I am." Realising they'd gone the entire conversation without knowing eachother's names, Amy held out her hand (the one that wasn't hiding feminine products under her jacket) and introduced herself. "My name's Amy Pond. Don't worry, because we will find a way out of this. We'll get you home..." She looked him straight in the eye to assure him she was serious. "...Doctor or no Doctor."
