Severus sighed deeply, giving the other young man a look that was half-way between go to hell and you have to be bloody kidding me. "Muggles. Mug-gles. Look, it doesn't matter. It's a not very flattering term from my universe used to refer to... well, you. Non-wizards. The name is Severus Snape, but please, do me the favor and forget it. I'm not prone to these sort of heroics and I sure as hell don't intend on saving anyone else anytime soon."
He didn't intend on it, no, but there was something about Severus that couldn't deny the thrill of facing something new. He'd had no idea if his magic would even work against the creature and that sort of uncertainty, being on the edge of exploration was something he'd enjoyed - however briefly that joy had lasted.
