r. lupin ([info]tufty) wrote in [info]silverage,
When the lady moved around him, Remus followed her, turning slowly in his heels, making a point to keep her in his sight lest she find a chance to stab him in the back and do God-knows-what-else. All the time, he was bouncing the words she'd spoken in his head. He stopped at the wrong stop sure, even he realized that. But why did she have to mention England? That much was obvious, wasn't it?

He kept her in the light of his wand when she'd told him exactly why: that he was so far off from England. Oh brilliant. "Brilliant," he muttered unhappily to no one in particular. Where had that old witch taken him? Bless her for what she'd done, though. No matter, he didn't really need to go to East Sussex, he just needed to go away, period.

And then she'd mumbled something.

Remus caught that. And the first thing he did was to check his clothes and his shoes. A couple dozen of decades off? But he looked like a muggle, didn't he! Dressed the part even, he really, really made sure of that! He rather thought no one would have mistaken him to be a wizard in a crowd of normal people but apparently, she thought otherwise? Unbelievable. Why is it so hard to look like a muggle?

No matter. It wasn't like he was meeting anyone important tonight and there was no mistaking what mess he'd gotten into before this. "So where exactly am I?" Remus asked the woman, looking up to her, again.
