Susan came to a sudden halt when the woman took hold of her arm. It was hardly polite behavior, but this was New York after all. She looked down at the hand on her arm, then raised her eyes to the other woman's face. She considered giving a Look, then reconsidered. This woman might be new, and stuck like she was as well.

"New? Yes, you could say that. I am one of the many recently arrived, as I've read about so many others. You? Are you lost?"

This woman seemed to be wearing the local garb; perhaps she was looking for another new arrival.
