Lee must have forgotten to breathe the entire time Galen was performing his abracadabra and to be honest, he just kept stepping back and back with Hester pressed against the ankle of his pants. When the whole thing was over, he must have forgotten where he was next.

But no warning could have kept him away as he carefully made his way back to his burner which, in all forms and ways, was shiny and new. He could still see it steaming, sure, but he crouched close to it and gazed at the work that Galen had done, becoming blind to his business with his balloon.

"We-hell," he said with a choked laughter, "must say, this is a mighty fine job you'd done with my burner!" Of course he can't say for sure yet if it would really work the way he knew burners would work but well, every burner would have to be tested, anyway. Standing up to face the man, he said, "I don't know magic but it looks like you'd fixed it fine. How can I repay you?"
