For those who don't know what happened in the first hours of this new year, I am sharing some of what I documented early January 1st in London, because I think the truth is important even when it is painful. And because the Daily Prophet didn't publish them all. Since what happened was brutal and violent, so are the pictures, which is why I've charmed it so that in order to see my photos, you have to write: "I, Full Name, want to see the truth."

Edinburgh is a beautiful city. And both large and diverse enough that I have finished most of my Christmas shopping.

Is everyone else prepared for the season? Does anyone have any preferred traditions they're missing not being at home?

My father and I have a tradition of learning a new Christmas song. It used to just be a performance for our family, but it has become a showmanship competition. Last year I learned Please Come Home for Christmas, and he learned Do You Hear What I Hear. I won. I haven't decided what song to learn for this year yet.

I am still struggling with what to get for Alice. I have decided that it must be practical, romantic, useful, and personal, but I cannot decide what meets that criteria.

Well. It was an eventful weekend.

I'll admit, the party was slightly more dramatic disastrous hectic than I expected, but it was good, I think, that everyone got to socialise with one another. Perhaps we should do another group event, but in a slightly more controlled environment?

I have a suggestion. Drive-in cinemas seem to be popular with muggles. I reckon I can set one up just for us. I know this isn't entirely in the spirit of the trip -- integration, et cetera -- but I think given recent events, perhaps we would benefit from practising regrouping?

So, who is interested in us having our own drive-in somewhere unpopulated?

If anyone would like to assist me in planning and orchestrating this, I would welcome assistance. Particularly with respect to muggle film suggestions. I haven't seen very many.
