While it was weird being back home, for good this time, Kat was enjoying the chance to hang out with her family, especially with everyone in such good spirits. She knew it wasn’t perfect, they’d all had their bumps in the road, and some were far worse than others, but they seemed on the mend for the most part. Kat tried not to let it bother her that everyone there was paired off except for her and Amelia and Bridget, but she had to wonder if that would ever change now that she was home. She told herself time and time again that she’d made the right decision, but there were some nights that she came home to an empty apartment and doubted herself. Meeting someone new in Point Pleasant wasn’t going to be easy.
But she had a lot to be thankful for and Kat tried to keep her sights set on that. As soon as Aaron called attention to himself, Kat had the feeling something like this was coming and she forced all feelings of jealousy aside, prepared to embrace and support Aaron even if her other siblings didn’t. Luckily, everyone attempted to put on a happy face and Kat had to wait her turn to hug Aaron. “Congratulations,” she grinned, moving to hug Mila as soon as she was through with Aaron. “I’m so excited for both of you. You’ll be great parents.”
