He had never been so jealous in his life as he was this moment. The
brat being comforted by his two closest friends, leading the long line
of mourners. The first time he had ever wished he was Potter.

He couldn’t even pay his proper respects, and at this moment, his
closest friend, his mentor was gone. Colleagues, Minerva, Hagrid,
other Order members who considered him a strong proud man, now thought
he was a cold blooded killer.

For now, dwelling in the shadows, he would stand waiting for his time
in the light. Someday, perhaps, they’d consider him forgiven once
again.

oh, poor lonely Snape. This is beautiful and so sad. All the more poignant for the lack of colour. Well done.

Thank you so much. The monotone atmosphere was the most fitting, I'm glad you like it.

Oh, that was so sad. I can see this happening after he runs away. I always wonder if he did went back to watch his only confidant being lay down on his final rest. Just beautiful and the raw emotions on his face are incredible.Bravo!

I know, I would have loved to have seen Severus being spotted at Dumbledore's service. Thank you so much for the comment.

As much as I love Severus' face here, I think it's the line of mourning marchers that moves me the most.

The stead line is just...*sobs*

This was so moving and your drabble so sad. Oh, have some peace, Severus!

*sobs again*

This is so sad! I always pictured this situation a lot like this. Poor Snape, honestly...forced to kill his only friend and then he can't even mourn him properly. You've conveyed the pain and loneliness of this so well. So alone...

I really love this.

Clare

I know, I felt SO horrible for Severus after that happened. Thank you, I'm glad you liked the piece. Huggles Severus Plushie.

And we all know how it ends (in canon, at least) and that makes it all the more poignant. Lovely, moving and filled with understated tragedy.

the atmosphere in this images is incredibly beautiful! the glimpse we get from snape's tear streaked face is heartbreaking, and the row of hooded mourners looks haunting and otherworldly. i had to think of fellini when i looked at them! great work!

I keep a box of kleenix on my desk for just these kind of moments. Heartwrenchly beautiful. The grey monochromatic color scheme adds so much to the grief you've conveyed. *applauds you*

Well, damn, woman... you should have warned this was not work safe! *wibbles*

I've often thought about this very thing - what was Severus feeling/thinking when everyone else was able to attend Dumbledore's funeral. How his co-workers went from thinking him strong to being a murderer. How very alone he was, surrounded by his Death Eater "family," and unable to even silently indulge in his grief. His jealousy over Potter being allowed to express his emotions and be -supported- by his friends... broke my heart.

*sniff* You know I hate you in the most loving way possible, right?

That was the very thing I was thinking about when I started this piece. We don't really see it during the books, but I would LOVE to read that part of it from Severus's POV.

I agree, having to "CELEBRATE" Dubledore's death with his fellow DE's would have been something out of his nightmares. Poor Severus.

Such tragic ideas done so gorgeously is awe inspiring. This is so moving. I've often wondered if he tried to look in on the funeral from afar. Severus life had been so isolating to start with and to sacrifice the little he had just heartbreaking. You've conveyed it so perfectly here. I love the technique - it's like the art itself is weeping.

Thank you, I'm so glad you thought the piece was that emotional. I really wanted to show Severus's soft side, show that he WAS capable of portraying the heartbreak he surly must have felt after what happened that night on the tower. Thank you for the comment.

Oh, poor Severus! One of the many sacrifices he made for Dumbledore. This is heart-rending. I love the subdued monochrome you've used, very appropriate.

So maligned, so misunderstood... *sigh*
This is why I need to make him happy in my fics, because of what JKR canon did to him.

Gorgeously atmospheric artwork. Brilliant.
