Summary: Harry and Severus cherish each other during a sleepless night.
A/N: THIRD DAMN TIME to try and format this thing! As if I needed more fluff... XD
The First of Many
Severus sighed and rolled over. It was too damn late, or too damn early... and damn... it was his turn wasn't it? He rolled out of bed, noticing that Harry was already gone.
Entering the room next to the bedroom, he found Harry pacing sleeplessly, rocking the small crying bundle against his chest, trying to sooth the infant. He could see the exhaustion in the green eyes, the near purple, puffy bruise like circles under his eyes were another testament to that. He gave his young lover a soft smile, and Harry returned it brightly.
Finally, it seemed like the house was quite for the first time in days. They both sighed as Harry held the now sleeping infant against his chest. Severus reached out and tenderly brushed back the soft wisps of the baby's hair. He steered Harry towards the couch in the nursery, sitting down first and carefully pulling Harry against his chest. He held in his arms the two biggest blessings of his life. Five years ago he wouldn't have even thought to dream of something so tender and sweet coming to him, and yet, here he was with his budding family.
Despite the past few days of sleeplessness courtesy of the newborn, he vowed then and there he would give Harry however many children he wanted to see that beaming smile and tender expression time and time again. Seeing Harry hold their son for the first time had taken his breath away, and when Albus Severus Potter-Snape had been placed carefully in his arms, he blinked back tears of happiness, wondering if he'd wake-up and find himself dying on the dirty floor of that rickety old shack. Surely this was just a dream, right?
But no, Harry had saved him from that nightmare and had made his dreams come true. He kissed the top of his husbands head as they sat together, just cherishing their bundle of joy in the early hours, hoping that it was the first of many.
