A/N: Forgive me for my 3 AM muse being bored.
Harry walked along the river, one foot in the shallow water, the otheron the damp rocks, as he let the moisture seep through the cloth material of his sneakers. He gave a crooked smile as he watched Severus a few feet ahead of him stop to inspect the moss that was growing on the side of a tree.
Apparently, it wasn't exactly what the potions master was looking for, as he scowled at the tree and turned around to look elsewhere for the specific specimen he needed to harvest for whatever his current project was on.
Harry rolled his eyes, as Severus stormed off, his masters robes billowing behind him like a cape. He smiled a bit at the thought of the two of them spending their days hunting down potion ingredients or when Severus would stop his projects to watch Harry fly. Life had settled for them, it was no longer the honeymoon stage of their marriage, where they would share one heated look and once again find themselves sharing the nearest flat surface, but it was obvious to everyone around them, they were happy. The two of them were content with each other, comfortable and still in love.
Harry realized he was wading in the middle of the river, with water up to his ankles, Severus standing a few feet ahead of him, smirking. Harry shrugged, as his lover rolled his eyes and continued on his way to scowl at the next tree.

A/N: Inspired by tonight's earlier storm. Beautiful lightning and loud, absolutely loved it.
He turned restlessly and sat up, looking across the bed, as his partner snuggled with a pillow, wishing for all the world that he could sleep as easily as the man currently snoring on the bed. With another peal of thunder and lightning cracking across the sky, he had to consciously remind himself that it was JUST a storm. That the lighting was just that, and not the rush of spell light brightening a battlefield filled with cracks of apparation all around him. That the sound of rain on the roof was supposed to be soothing, not remind him of the sound of feet, a crowd stampeding through a castle in chaos.
The screams in his mind were echos of memories he wanted to forget and added to the sounds of the storm, he fought to remain in the present.
Curling up on the couch he, he hunched over a hot cup of cocoa, staring down into the swirling foamy milk. Taking a sip, he shuddered a bit. Despite it being the middle of summer, rainy nights still offered themselves for a cool chill, and sitting alone in the dark, dwelling about things that aught not to be dwelled upon was anything but sane at this point.
Harry looked at the man in the doorway, looking like a guilty child with his hand caught in the candy jar. He gave a bit of a tense smile to the man he didn't mean to wake, but knew he was in for a bit of chastisement.
"You don't have to run any more, you know." Severus sat down on the end of the couch and pulled Harry's feet into his lap to give him a bit of a massage. He knew how much storms still bothered his younger lover, and despite being over the age of 30, he still had his moments
of seemingly childlike innocence. Despite the fact that the fear of the storms had nothing to do with lingering fears from his childhood, he knew that Harry hated to think of himself as week, especially in front of him. Harry jumped a bit as another loud crack of thunder slightly shook the rickety old house. "Come back to bed, I can think of something a bit more..." he took a hand and sucked on two of Harry's fingers for just a minute, then licked up the crevice between them, "distracting to chase away the storm."
He pulled Harry up and sat down the cooling drink, and pulled his husband towards the bedroom, casting a warming and silencing charm just for good measure to not distract Harry from his current goal of pleasure.
