Katie was still reeling from Cal's sudden disappearance and had half a mind to try and follow her. She looked up and down the street for her sister, but there was no sign of her; she had truly disappeared. A nagging doubt settled in her stomach and she became fearful that she wouldn't see her for another year. No, she said she would be around a lot more and she would be in contact...all you can do is trust that. She took one last look down the street before making her way towards the Three Broomsticks.
Before Cal's strange behavior, she had been looking forward to the second part of her Hogsmeade trip. She had been thinking of Marcus the whole week, wondering if she had read into things too much. From their interaction, she had thought Marcus had taken an interest in her; she could only wonder why as she thought she had made a fool of herself during the race. As she had flown back towards the pitch, she began to over analyze everything she had done. Did she talk too much? Did she seem too stuck up? Maybe she shouldn't have asked him so much about his life...
She tried to shake their last meeting from her mind as she prepared to meet him again. The same butterflies were back and she opened the door of the Three Broomsticks, only to be bombarded by the laughter and random chit chat that filled the pub. Her eyes quickly moved through the crowds and filled tables, but didn't see the face she had been waiting for.
Moving through the crowds, she was able to find an empty table, seemingly just emptied by a group of friends. Crumbs were still scattered on the top of the table, but she just brushed them off, smiling as someone came over to take her order. She declined, having had enough with Cal and patiently waited for Marcus to come. What if he forgot? It has been a week...and what's a silly date with a school girl? She glanced out the window, hoping to see him make his way towards the pub, but looked away once more. She didn't want to seem too eager for his arrival and didn't want to be disappointed as the minutes ticked by and he didn't show up. No, she would just sit and wait. 10 minutes...I'll wait 10 minutes. She glanced down at her watch, settling her hands back in her lap.
