Notes: Takarazuka are performing Aoike's El Halcon in Tokyo
from Jan.2nd to Feb.11 2008.
What is often said is that "El Halcon" or "Seven Seas, Seven Skies" was watershed for Aoike Yasuko (the auther of From Eroia with Love).
to even someone who are not really interested in El Halcon,
it would be interesting to read this post as long as you like Eroica or the author Aoike's works.
With this URL of the news about the stage.

I wrote "EL HALCON" or "Seven Seas, Seven Skies" 30 years ago and
it was because it's my rebelling against the American stereotyped pirate
movies in which Spanish pirates with beard or mustache in pumpkin pants are always beaten by white-hat heroes.
And it became a turning point for me as a comic writer to explore
characterization of this bad boy (Tyrian) , and I found a direction to what to write later.
It is very profound and grateful to see him coming back from his dead on
the TAKARAZUKA's stages.

I'd been writing orthodox girls comics with clean-living heros battling for justice, and it was self-deceiving untill writing "El Halcon".
When I casted a villain in a leading character in it, I saw the light and found myself quite intrigued by exploring someone's way to live even if he is devil.
Once I found the direction, I started to write what I really want to write. Later, he had a big influence on my subsequent works.
Looking at pictures of Tyrian, I remember the time I was aspiring to change my artwork style from the typical 70's girls comic romantic with looong legs to more realistic. It was old, unstable picture. I can't write him any more in my current style.
He is what awakened me and where I can never turn back.
With the long black hair ruffled, he still remains romantic memories to me.
