Everett really did have to school his face into that impassive expression he'd learned so well in his youth after that. "Actually, I have to agree. It had rather been discussed. We knew that the laws were, in all likelihood, going to come into force. Besides, if you're going to commit to a relationship and hope for it to be long term, it does well if you agree on a few key issues. Children are rather an important issue, after all." he pointed out very evenly.
"Basically, it will likely all be done very tastefully. Either way, they know as well as we do that this has already happened. As Emil said, he has put forward his residency paperwork already." He replied, taking another sip of wine. "It would be less becoming to cause some sort of fuss, I'm sure." he said, and he did rather think that, too. He snorted at that. "Yes, well. There will be no stopping Rita now." he said, shaking his head.
"You know how well she listens to be. And besides, she always liked a bigger portion of dessert if she could get it. This provides the idea excuse, does it not?" He asked, knowing exactly what his sister was like. "Regardless, I'll do what I can to draw attention away from her midriff, we may get just a little more time with the illusion she isn't as far along as she is." He said, knowing Emil probably thought they'd gone mad. "My sister decided to get herself pregnant prior to her wedding. Or even her engagement." he murmured lightly for his benefit.
