Everett leaned and gave his mother a kiss on the cheek as would be expected. "Mother." he replied formally, giving her a small smile, before watching her attentions turn to Emil. Of course, trust her to be her normal self. In some ways though, he supposed that was the best possible outcome.
"Yes, this is Emil. Emil, this is my mother, Pansy Topstitch." he replied, giving the formal introductions as necessary. If nothing else today, he supposed he could rely on the structure that came with good manners. It didn't help that he'd never had to bring anyone home before, and anyone he might have would have previously been someone his mother knew anyway.
"Indeed, probably quite serious enough. Your support is, of course, gratefully received and much appreciated." he added, glancing at Emil and giving him a small nod and a slightly tense smile before a house elf reappeared and led them through to the Blue Room where drinks and so on were waiting.
Of course, the elves here knew him well, and he was immediately presented with a good glass of white wine which he accepted with a small word of thanks, before taking a seat, very deliberately choosing to sit next to Emil - if he didn't, there was every chance that his mother might, after all, and Salazar knew what that might entail.
