It had been a long day, a damn long day, her most recent vehicle had finally gotten mired, the highway too crowded for her to continue driving, so she'd bid the Mustang a fond farewell, leaving the keys on the front seat in case someone else came across it and was going back the way she'd come.
After that she'd hiked the rest of the day, she couldn't be sure how far, since the terrain was so similar, and she hadn't seen a road sign in a while. She did find an old storage barn not too far off the highway, empty save for the remains of someone else's campsite, weeks old by the look of it. Good, that meant the place was safe enough, since there was no sign of an attack, just people who'd been and gone again.
"Sorry buddy," She told the sugar glider clinging to her shoulder, "No fire tonight. But I've still got some mealies for you. We could both use some protien tonight, I think. Been a long day." She set her pack down in the middle of the space and went about pulling the doors on either side of the barn shut, just leaving enough space for someone able-bodied to get through in a hurry.
