I stand by my first opinion. Given that Dick has no academic qualifications and that he got the job through sheer string-pulling, he's basically taking someone else's place, as the market for art and history graduates is extremely small. This stands out as one of the most blatant examples of nepotism and rich privilege in Bat comics.
Not to mention that it's doing a complete disservice to Dick's character to think that he would accept Bruce buying him a job rather than get one on his own merits, even if Bruce would fall so low.
