A Taz in the hand is worth two in the Bush

Someone requested old-school Bushmaster and Tasmanian Devil. Here's their first appearances, from Super Friends #8 and 9, respectively.

Superman's old enemy, Grax the Space Pirate, has planted various kinds of world-destroying bombs in locations around the globe. The Justice League team up with various local heroes in order to find and defuse them all. Cultural stereotypes, ahoy!

	Does the caption text have to explain everything to us? It's annoying enough to translate half of what Devil is saying, like they did with Wildcat II's shark cousin, but when to describe what a bandicoot is just a waste of time. This should be a new theme for the week, annoying/unnecessary caption. And Devil looks like a Koala in the last panel. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	...to describe what a bandicoot is just a waste of time. Not really. When this was published, Wikipedia didn't exist. I sure as hell didn't know what a bandicoot was and Tas's dialogue was my first introduction to Australian slang. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Those aren't damn well Bunyips. I'm not even an Aussie and I know that. A Bunyip is a specific thing, not a catch-all term for 'big ugly monster'. Now, if this was a swamp, that would be something else - Bunyips are supposed to be water monsters, so he might have been speaking figuratively - but no, they're on dry land. They're not friggin' Bunyips. Do your homework, writer. Harrumph.
Also, who's the little guy who's talking to Green Lantern?

They wouldn't literally be bunyips in any event, since they're aliens brought in by Grax to guard the bomb. But yeah, they probably could have found something more appropriate for Taz to compare them to. E. Nelson Bridwell was usually downright obsessive about such trivia, so that's a rare lapse on his part.

The kid talking to GL is Marvin. This was the storyline that phased out Wendy, Marvin, and Wonderdog and introduced the Wonder Twins as the new junior sidekicks.
