Thanks for posting this. All my Batgirl issues are floppies and in storage so it's been awhile since I read these. Just seeing them reminds me of how AWESOME a character Cass is and why exactly I (and so many others) are so P.O.ed are angry that not only did DC turn her into a cackling card-carrying villain/killer but now have had her give up her cowl and disappear to make way for yet another white blonde (because Wonder Girl and Supergirl and Speedy weren't enough for DC). I like Steph but Cass/Batgirl during the Puckett/Scott era was THE comic that made me read them on a regular basis so she'll always have a spot in my heart.
Also, good writer could have used Cass's thoughts on how Dick treated Babs as part of Dick/Cass's present tension and estrangement - except to do that someone would have had to actually read any of the Puckett/Horrocks/Gabrych run of Batgirl. Which no one at DC lately seems to have done.
Some other things: 1. Has Cass ever seen Bruce with the yellow oval outfit? I can't remember him wearing it in years (he did for a short period when the Burton Batman movies were out but even that was years ago). The yellow oval period actually represented a kindler, gentler Bruce (at least until the 90s). I wonder why Cass would think of that in a negative way.
2. The White Angel Cass makes me of what she would have looked like (minus halo) had DC taken up Gail Simone's "Angel of the Bat" pitch for the character. I always found it interesting concept (even if would have been utterly derailed once a new writer who didn't have respect for the concept took over). Now that Cass is no longer Batgirl I've been wondering about a new costume for her - I think an all Batman-ish blue ensemble with echoes of Daredevil would work but the all-white is an intriguing too.
