I definitely see your point fights haven gotten a lot quicker over the years this generation is rather big on instant gratification, and things do seem to move faster in general
however, even though drawn out fights are really interesting in their complexity and set-up, a quick take-down is kinda nice too
if two opponents who are well-versed in combat fight each other, they usually try to end the fight with one blow when people fight, they usually try to end it quickly because they have another objective in mind - long drawn out fights should only really ever happen if the fight itself is the main objective
in the Superman/Batman example here, Shiva was just one of many opponents facing Batman and Superman, so even though she did indeed get slighted, I think that it was good that Batman ended it quickly (although a more intense, drawn-out rematch would be excellent to read) but yeah, another villian probably should have been used
