Booster Gold #27 - Um. Oh Dear.
Courtesy of our friends at The Source, the cover for December's issue of Booster Gold, which is the second part of the two-part Blackest Night tie-in.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking the kinky bondage knots are a little over-the-top for a hanging, Ted, but good to see you've got your priorities in order.

He's just so chipper about it. Oh Ted.

It looks like the noose isn't even connected to the rest of the knots. Which makes the hoe yay bondage more blatant.

If it were it wouldn't work as a noose, since his weight would be distributed across all the ropes, not just hanging by the neck.

Now that's what I call a tie-in.

bondage, auto-erotic asfixiation, possible necrophilia.

yup, so wrong.

It's kind of sad that I have read none of the comics involved and yet I completely understood that through the power of internet osmosis.

(Get hooked into one or two damn LJ fanfic comms, and kiss whatever remained of your life a fond adieu. That's all I can say. :o )

Probably--but after that, I'm pretty sure it's going to at least try to make death a lot more perminant in DC. Well, at least until the next EIC comes around.

Hmm so unlike the other tie ins that are one shots (barring the minis) this will be a two piece arc in Booster? Sweet.

Ted Kord had to fight the corpse of Dan Garrett, reanimated by the scarab for some reason I don't quite remember.

now Booster Gold has to deal with a Ted zombie.

In the future, some luckless superhero will have to contend with the long-dead-by-probably-natural-causes zombie of jaime reyes.

Mmm... bondage. I'm going to go with erotic asphyxiation for the noose, just so I can focus on the ho-yay elements of the scene, rather than evil zombie Ted (who seems entirely too chipper about the whole thing for the scene to be about death and destruction rather than sex, in my humble opinion).

So, I try to remind myself that I tend to look at the relationship between Booster Gold and Blue Beetle II through slash goggles and that any homoerotic qualities is just my reading too much into it and were by no means intentional (except in Formerly Known as the Justice League, but that was fairly on the nose).

But, darn it! There's no way they didn't do this on purpose.

Wasn't an alt-universe Ted shown to be still alive (or at least teased to be) at the end of Booster Gold One Million? Could there be two displaced Ted Kords around (one alive and one dead)?
