Re: the whole therapy thing
I think the problem is that he won't talk to anyone, period, and until he can do that it won't happen. If Tim was ready to go to therapy he'd be ready to talk to his friends and family and maybe get better ways of dealing with loss from them.
Tim won't even talk about why he believes Bruce is alive, probably because "why Bruce is alive" is totally linked to his feelings even if he doesn't want to admit it.
I gotta say, I really like some of what they're doing here, even if it's not perfect. I believe them as a family all mourning Bruce. Alfred and Dick were in much better places emotionally when it happened. We see they're able to talk about it, take comfort in each other. Their sadness is something they can understand and articulate and make sense of.
Tim has got to have so many conflicting feelings and he's not ready to pick through any of them, but I think his family and friends have been pretty good about it. We see that they care about his emotional well-being, that they want to help him, but there's nothing they can say or do or offer that will make him hurt less and if he senses they care he turns his back.
The one thing Tim's asked for is here: Let me go and believe in me while I do it. And Dick gives him the one thing he asked for, even if he can only hope it won't lead to disaster.
