I guess my lingering problem is that, 90 percent of the time, the Sentry is still written exclusively at two speeds - lazy deus ex machina method of getting short-sighted writers out of corners that they've painted themselves into, or overly powerful obstacle to the plots that needs to be written around - that unfortunately pretty much personify my larger problems with Marvel as a whole.
As with the Hood, the worst thing that ever happened to the Sentry was Marvel letting Bendis write him, which could be said of a lot of characters that Bendis claims to "love," because with rare exceptions - Luke Cage, Ultimate Spider-Man - Bendis has an uncanny knack for ruining characters precisely BECAUSE he "loves" them.
