Seriously. In marketable female characters alone DC has long had it all over Marvel. Wonder Woman vs. Electra? Please. Then add in Vixen, Zatanna, Supergirl (Helen Slater movie version being 20+ years old now), Mera, Black Canary, Katanna, Cass Cain and Stephanie Brown, Barbara Gordon (as Oracle or Batgirl), Catwoman (Brubaker's Selina not Halle Berry's pretender), Mary Marvel (a heroine for the tween crowd?), Lady Shiva, Raven, the Huntress (Helena B. version), Courtney Whitmore & Maxine Hunkel (what a duo) and of course Powergirl. All these FEMALE characters have been laying mostly dormant by DC and each could probably support a movie, TV show or cartoon spun off from them. Heck, Wonder Woman alone could have a seperate Artemis, Hippolyta, Phillipus, Donna, Cassie (daughter of Zeus!) spin-off.
And that's not even getting into the male characters not named Batman and Superman. In the JSA alone you have Dr. Midnite, Mr. Terrific, Dr. Fate and the Jim Corrigan Spectre. I can picture each supporting a big-budget film or some sort of TV show. I know it's become a joke, but you have to really wonder until Marvel stole the spotlight if Time Warner really did realize they owned so many valuable properties.
