Certainly! (although...one of the traditional methods of dealing with vampires is to toss seeds by the window...which would only work if all vampires were just like Sesame Street's Count...) The Uber-monster is just a case of bigger-is-better and everything-you-know-was-wrong-from-the-start cliches.
But I have to say, at some point, the uber-monster doesn't feel right. And if I came for a vampire story, I feel disappointed if too many vampire features are taken away in the service of the author's need for a twist. It feels like bait-and-switch, you know?
