Re: It makes sense in context
Exactly! That's why the phrase 'Master Bedroom' has completely faded from contemporary usage and.....oh, wait. It HASN'T.
Well, certainly we all agree that when a rapper creates a primary recording, they don't call it a 'master', right? Especially not Jam MASTER Jay? Right? Hmmm. Wait, wait...I'll get it.
Oh, now I remember! We used to call those educational degrees after a Bachleor of Science and before a Doctor of Science a MASTER. But then we stopped and replaced it with.....oh, NUTS. Didn't change that, either.
Oh, wait...remember how they had those books about naval warfare they made into a movie and how they changed it from 'MASTER and Commander' to....ummm, to....Oh, I guess they DIDN'T.
Well, certainly once Tiger Woods rose to prominence as a golfer, they changed the name of that famous tournament from THE MASTERS, right? Gosh, not even THAT? View Master? BrewMaster? Jedi Master? Master Sommelier? TOP CHEF MASTERS? ANYTHING?
Why, one might think that the word MASTER had far more connotations that are still in common use than Box_in_the_Box suggests. ;)
