Whoa. My internet does not resemble your internet, if this is what a "frenzy" looks like to you.
I'm perfectly willing to believe that a colossal moment of Stupid happened to several people who should have been paying better attention. When it comes to race-related issues, some weeks I can have a dozen such moments happen to me online before the week is even half over. Often it takes somebody else to point out to me where the problem is.
So, no. I don't want to "pitchfork" anyone. But some spokesperson getting up and apologizing for this rather impressive moment of Stupid would be nice. A promise to aim for fewer outbreaks of Stupid in the future would be even nicer.
