Horror Week: EC Requests

With the theme being "Horror Week", I thought I'd post some EC horror stories. That being said, I don't know which ones I should post as there's a lot to choose from. Soo...I'm taking requests, if anyone is interested. All I need is which magazine it came from, the issue number and of course the title of the story. I'll take the rest from there.

I can't promise I'll do all of them, depending on how much requests I get. I can only do them until Monday, as that's when I'll be in college. But there's a chance I could do some next weekend if time allows.

And as for requests, I seem to recall an old EC comic involving a sneering man who refused to remove his hat for the flag during a patriotic parade ... I won't say more, for fear of giving away the ending, but it was one hell of a rebuke to the Communist witch-hunts.

Was he bald?

I'm sure it was because he was bald!

Was that where he was a blind veteran and didn't know the flag was passing by?

A senseless waste of human life, if only someone had nudged him and whispered, "Pssst, buddy-- there goes the flag!"

It was-- but I don't remember its title. Wally Wood drew it.

I wouldn't mind seeing "Horror We? How's Bayou?" with its wonderfully nasty Graham Ingels art. Or the grim-comic "Country Clubbin'" by Jack Davis.

That was “The Loathsome”, in “Weird Science” number 20.

I'd like to see a story where a guy kills another guy. And then the dead guy comes back and kills the guy in an ironic way.

You think you can find one of those in your collection? ;)

Meh, I don't think anyone doubts that a lot of the EC stories were formulaic. But the same could be said for a lot of horror anthology series in general (even Twilight Zone used a lot of the same endings) and EC still had a number of groundbreaking stories that broke social taboos at the time.

Could you post the baseball one? I mean, most everyone knows what happens, but it's still one of the stories that everyone thinks of when they think of EC Horror.

That was the one that really got them, wasn't it? I own all the EC horror comics and I remember going through them once to find that one.

I'll post that now. And considering I haven't gotten many requests, it's possible I can do all of them later(although I don't know it if it'll be in time for Horror Week, unfortunately).
