My Two Robinsons

I mean... it's weird. It's like there's two James Robinsons. There's the guy that's twice now used the Justice League International (or the closest thing to it) as canon fodder to build up a villain...

And there's the Robinson that gave us Mon-El visiting heroes all over the world, honestly making them look cool.

So I'm wondering... is there anyone here that's seen him at any recent cons?

If so: has he started flipping a coin that has one side all scarred?

*Reads the last page* Stormy Foster?

I can't believe someone actually remembered Stormy Foster.

I can't believe someone remembered Stormy Foster, either.

James Robinson is a fairly common name. Are we sure it's the same guy?

(Hey, I had to try.)

that's a currently running theory about Geoff Johns, too.

Hey, Adam Beechen writes a good Wonder Woman. Every writer's got his little inconsistencies.

When did he write Diana?

He wrote a huge number of the JLU tie-in comics. Most of which were pretty damn good (if obviously written for kids and full of aesops and suchlike) in all respects - he actually wrote a worthwhile comic about Vibe - but since Diana seems to snag so many otherwise good authors she stands out to me as sort of the symbol of everything he did right. Particularly given that he managed to write her both basically as herself and in a way that was basically consistent with the totally failtastic take they had on her in the parent show, which really shouldn't have been possible.

Could have done without that weird bullshit about the Amazons getting the purple healing ray from Dr Fate, though.

Well, you just blew my mind. I mean, I saw the Christmas episode of B:tBaB, and it was quite good, but something in my brain just cannot associate Beechen with good comics-writing. Weird 0_o

Whatever happened to that Dr Light/Rising Sun romance? They were kind of sweet together, him being all cute about her kids and her being actually nice to him.

Yay, a Von Hammer! ^^

I wonder if his sister is that creepy woman who came onto Tim toward the end of the Bludhaven arc...

Weren't some of those Mon-El pages already posted? I know I've seen the Rocket Reds and Robo-Octo-Ape pages here before.

Supposedly, JLA: CFJ was the first project Robinson worked on after a longish absence from comics. He may have been more than a little rusty.

His work on Superman (and Superman: WONK w/Rucka) is of a much more recent vintage and, IMHO, represents a return to form.

Freddie became Marvel after IC, right? I seem to remember that being around '05-07, so that's two-four years.
