I agree with you!
If I believed in conspiracy theories I'd go with the idea that Robinson is so pissed this book's been delayed so much (wasn't it supposed to come in 07 or 08?) and so overworked that he just doesn't care about this and just wants it over with so he doesn't care if it's any good.
I thought the same thing with Countdown. Anyone who reached the very end of that wretched excuse for a series could tell that the writers (who knew they were on the most critically lambasted crap since Amazons Attack) were basically making it suck on purpose by that point. Really - Darkseid waiting on Mary Marvel's couch (never mind explaining how a 16 year old minor with no means of support and in a coma for the past half year suddenly has her own apartment anyway)? Or the Piper blowing up Apokolips playing a Queen song and then somehow still being alive on regular Earth. Or Donna Troy actually saying "Who monitors the monitors" with a straight face? No way stuff that bad was accidental - and now I'm starting to feel the same way about Cry for Justice.
