I just hate when the meter's inconsistent. Byrne basically sticks to broken iambic heptameter, which is at least really natural in English and an easy pattern to follow. Other writers will have him switch meter midstream, so you'll get three word balloons of six-foot iambic rhymes and then suddenly the next one will be a pair of three trochees, and it's as completely jarring as someone flipping the radio to death metal in the middle of your Enya meditation mix or whatever. (I feel like this was especially annoying in Reign in Hell, though I may be thinking of Underworld... it's unfortunately not uncommon.)
