Oh, I see your point. It's a deeply ingrained attitude that will take a long time to change. And this IS super-hero comics after all. Dick not only isn't injured and his feelings aren't hurt, he keeps talking as if nothing happened. It's like Westerns where the cowboy gets shot in the arm and ignores it.
To be fair, a lot of men (especially young men who have never been in a real fight) love the stereotype of male resistance to pain and injury. It's a big part of everything from comics to ROCKY movies to comedies, where the characters shrug off punishment that would put a real human in the ER. I just tend to see another aspect.
