"If you realize DKR is a different universe, why bother trying to use it as evidence of Batman and Superman's established relationship?"
Because it exists and it's an established and popular version of Batman and Superman.
"And who's to say we've seen every single moment of his thoughts? Or that he wasn't in denial?"
If it's not in the text than it doesn't exist. Denny O'Neil's Batman, Frank Miller's Batman, Doug Moench's Batman, Steve Englehart's Batman, everybody's Batman all the way back to Bill Finger...none of them wrote him as a gay character.
"Maggie Sawyer was. She was married with a kid before she even thought about her sexuality."
That's simply not believable for her not to realize what gender sexually arouses her by her teen years.
"Between personal denial and cultural pressure, there are a number of reasons a person wouldn't think that to explore their sexuality until long after college age. Especially someone as emotionally stunted as Bruce Wayne."
That's simply not believable for him not to realize what gender sexually arouses him by his teen years. "The death of his parents left lasting scars upon Batman, but it did not make him a homosexual. Rather, it helped to determine the kind of women for whom he could feel affection and experience erotic feeling." - The Encyclopedia of Comic Book Heroes: Batman by Michael L. Fleisher.
"And the strongest evidence that people are born homosexual is inconclusive. There is no "gay gene". I know it's not a choice, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's biological."
"Also note I said closet homophobes, by which I mean someone who can only convince themselves that they're down with people being gay if it's a biological thing."
I don't have a problem with people that actually are gay and I have no problem with actual gay characters. Calling people closet homophobes for believing that it's biological is absurd. Homophobes don't believe it's biological.
"When we get down to brass, what you're arguing against here is slash, and if you're gonna flip your wig every time someone starts pairing off comic characters with no regard for their established sexual orientation, then Scans_Daily may not be the community for you."
I'm here because I am a comic book fan. Being a fan of slash is not a requirement. It is a person's right to express a dissatisfaction and disagreement equal to a person's right to express satisfaction and agreement.
