Well, let me put it this way..
It's not that they disagree with it, but the way that they express that that troubles me...(Thus my comments about people getting too worked up about it..) It just seems like there's too much hate floating about it in these postings..And far too often they straddle the line between debate and descent into enflamed rants...And I'm sorry if that's me being oversensitive and easily offended by it, but I always thought this site is supposed to be about the fun of comic books, and it's just seems like lately we've been in danger of losing a lot of that..
It's a worrying trend in itself..but I'm a bit more concerned by the fact that when people get concerned and start voicing their discomfort, even if they try to phrase it in would be humourous, tongue in cheek observations, then suddenly they're the one's being given the proverbial slap on the wrist.
Scans Daily used to make me smile a lot when I came on here, but now I find myself just sighing at the way some folks seem to be far more interested in venting their disagreements about current directions of some mainstream titles, rather than celebrating everything else about the medium that made them fans in the first place.
Now I'm not saying that we shouldn't have people commenting on what they don't like. If I wanted to I could spend write whole essays on what I don't agree with that's been penned by Loeb, Bendis et al..But that does kind of get old after a while, and most especially if people keep at it 24/7 as if they were trying to work some kind of hate campaign..
So essentially what I'm saying is that I don't want this place to degenerate into the type of forum/messageboard wherein that's all we see here on a daily basis. Just a little bit of balance would be nice..
