I can't recall a six-month gap EVER being a good thing in comics.
It's ALWAYS used as an excuse to put the characters in vastly different places with absolutely no prior explanations, and is then used to string the readers along with OH MAYBE WE'LL EVENTUALLY LET YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED DURING THAT GAP, except that even when they do, the explanations are still anti-climactic and dogshit.
There simply needs to be a moratorium on it, as a storytelling technique.
