This is awesome. It doesn't click with me quite as well as FnT (I do so dig those creepy downbeat anticlimaxes--I'm reminded of a book of Japanese court fairy tales I've been reading through for like a year now; nary a snappy ending in sight, which the introduction notes), but I love, love, love this kind of comic; it's amazing how satisfying horror shorts can be. Thanks for the scans.
And, of course, the Kuchisake-Onna (slit-mouthed woman) is one of my favourite monsters. And this is an interesting take on her - and there are a whole lot of different takes on her - a surprising number, given her modern origin.
What's the 411 on her? My knowledge of Japanese monster lore is sketchy, and she sounds like a delightfully creepy monster figure.
