I never said they were equivalent. I just don't think Selina, with what she's gone through and what she's done would want a known rapist and torturer and the person who just finished mentally abusing her to continue breathing, let alone share living space and work with her. And, even worse...for some bits of fruit.
It's not just out of character - it's also extremely flimsy, ineffectual storytelling that detracts from the plot and reinforces the fact that it's cheesecake-with-speech-bubbles and nothing more.
